Day 5 highlights: Of childhood dreams come true

It was off to a rocky start at Manchester when we stepped out of the airport and realised how much more freakin' cold it was compared to London.

It didn't help that when we finally arrived at the city centre after a 1.5hr flight and 1hr train ride, it was raining and we had to wait and scramble up a stuffy bus to bring us nearer to our hotel.

Then in the hotel, I sat down on the bed and broke it instantly. (Ok, between you and me, I jumped on it and broke it...) So we had to wait for a new room because the bed fellow wasn't around to fix it.

Finally, we got our act together and started getting excited about why we were in Manchester in the first place...

At this point, all your Man Utd and/or football fans are like "stop talking already and show us the pictures", so without further ado, here's the best of Old Trafford through the eyes of Hil and Jo. Oh, before that, I must tell you how we actually screwed up the timing for the stadium tour, but thank God for my poor-thing-face, I managed to convince the counter lady to let us join the next tour group. Phew.

By the time we left the stadium, the skies had cleared up and we enjoyed glorious weather - one of the trip's best - for the rest of the day. And I love love love, hotel rooms with good views. You get a sense of how small you really are and how incredibly expansive our earth is. Hmmm.
