Have you converted yet?

If music is our religion, then Mraz must be god. He's the one who fills my cup to overflowing; the reason for my singing; the healing touch to any musical woe. Seeing him perform live once again after two long years has affirmed my faith in the lord of wordplays. He doesn't have striking good looks to attract (which by the way shows that I'm not that superficial after all...). Instead, he inspires with his incredible ability to fashion beautiful lyrics from mere words. He concocts catchy tunes that form an auto-playlist in my head each morning I wake up. His innate charisma to work the crowd is like a mighty wind that blows through the grass of Fort Canning.

I hereby proclaim Jason Mraz the messiah of Singfest 08, without whom the entire day would have been just-another-day. The crosses we bore were heavy - waiting in line for the entire morning, fighting to squeeze through a narrow door, enduring the beating rays of the sun, being shoved and pushed like nobody's business, and risking our health as passive smokers - but it was totally worth it. Even Alicia Keys, awesome as she may be, did not come close to claiming the top honours.

So what are you waiting for? Repent and convert to Mraz-ism, or be damned in the depths of musical hell where you'll find terrible techno, catastrophic country, and Britney.

To my fellow Mraz-niacs,
thank you for the lovely day together...
