TV
The season of Grey’s has finally ended. Those Monday nights of simple contentment. Will Meredith choose McDreamy or the cute and oh-so-perfect McVet? Will Izzy wake up her idea and return to work or will she forever be out the hospital doors? Will Dr Burke be able to perform surgery again or must he kiss goodbye to his career and career-minded girlfriend? We’ll see…
Timbre
What do you get when you add a group of friends, booze and music? Happiness of course! The juxtaposition of an awesome ‘live’ band, great company and the funky outdoor ambience makes me crave for more. Here, have a preview…and ignore the bad singing of the girl (from the next table).
Accomplishments
I can understand why mums-to-be, despite all the pain and suffering involved in giving birth, still go through with it anyway. It’s the joy of seeing your newborn baby, all fragile and bloody, but yet so perfect and precious. It’s that first moment of many moments when the pain means nothing more than a prick of the needle.
This week, I became a mum. This week, I laboured long hours, pushed through excruciating pains and screamed out in frustration. This week, my life stopped and I concentrated on the things that matter.
Before I knew it, the pain was gone and the deed was done – Two final assignments for the semester and two articles for the press. Like they say, no pain, no gain. Indeed, nothing beats the pure bliss of receiving my grades and certainly, nothing can top the adrenaline rush of flipping through a magazine to find my name in it. When I think about it, the pain is definitely worth a pot of gold.
Hil
Meeting Hil for supper always puts a smile on my face. Sinful desserts, loving boyfriend, great conversations. What else can a girl ask for? Well, how about tickets to Corrinne May’s Christmas concert in December? *screams*
Giving
I finally plucked up enough courage to buy some tissue from the old lady sitting outside my workplace. And mind you, that was some very expensive tissue. The experience was brief and somehow, I didn’t feel the satisfaction which I initially thought I would. In fact, I was a little turned off because the old lady held onto my money and looked with anticipation until I told her to keep the change. When I thought about it afterwards, it occurred to me that pure happiness is in the act of unconditional giving, and obviously, I wasn’t being unconditional enough, so, try harder next time Jo.
Work

(From left to right) Colleague, colleague, boss, colleague, me.
I must say that I’ve always been blessed with nice bosses. Although the time with my latest boss is short-lived, I’m thankful for the 6 months we shared together. Looking on the bright side, at least I got my job confirmation earlier, and of course, being boss-less does have its perks...if you know what I mean...
MJ
Nope, not Michael Jackson. It requires no nose job, no moonwalk, no crotch-grabbing…most of the time at least. The sound of it is sweeter than music. I like…
